One early summer evening while walking my dogs south of town, I noticed these incredibly tall yet beautiful thistle blooms. Some of these plants were 7 or 8 feet tall and their blooms were often 4”-5”. Their name is appropriate. In the slightest breeze when the blooms full and heavy, the bob up and down like a heading nodding.
